Academic Support Units
The Academic Advising Center (AAC) is responsible for providing advising services to incoming students for their first 45 hours of enrollment. The advising model focuses on three areas: advocacy, engagement and empowerment. To positively impact retention rates, degree completion, and time to degree, the AAC provides students with a Financial and Social Services Program, and a Student Success Help Desk.
COURI provides undergraduate students with impactful learning experiences through research, scholarly and creative activities, under the mentorship of faculty, and in collaboration with UTEP academic leaders, advisors and other supporting units.
The Career Center aims to expose UTEP students to options that best fit their individual career needs and aspirations. The Career Center provides part-time and full-time job listings, internship, and experiential learning opportunities, career/job fairs, career development workshops and presentations, résumé reviews, job search assistance, interview coaching, on-campus and virtual interviews, and employer contacts.
The Center for Community Engagement connects students and faculty with community partners to share knowledge and resources for the improvement of both academics and societal challenges. The CCE supports the institutionalization of

The Graduate School, located on the Administration Building, Room 200, oversees more than 100 master's degree programs and certificates as well as 22 doctoral programs. The Graduate School team helps students explore options for graduate education, complete the admissions and enrollment process, and graduate in a timely manner through professional development, advising, and mentoring. The Graduate School also offers resources for undergraduates preparing to enter graduate school, postdoctoral fellows in residence, and those who supervise these emerging scholars.

The library provides innovative and high quality services, programs, and resources that support UTEP's stated mission of education, research, scholarship, and community service. The library provides access to a range of print and electronic information resources that meet the individual needs of its users in its multicultural university community and the U.S. – Mexican Border Region.
The Miner Learning Center (MLC) provides assistance in traditionally difficult core curriculum class sections by providing study sessions in order to improve academic performance. Academic support services include regularly scheduled, out-of-class, Peer Tutoring and peer-led study sessions, known as Peers Assisting Student Success (PASS) sessions. PASS and Peer Tutoring sessions are open to all students in the course and are attended on a voluntary basis, free of charge.
The University Honors Program (UHP) is designed to attract, retain, and graduate academically talented students and maximize their professional, educational, and service opportunities. The goal of the Honors Program is to involve students in an ideal set of experiences that will best prepare them for their next steps and lifelong success. The dynamic interdisciplinary program promotes student engagement and integrates closely with the ÀÇÓÑÊÓƵ Student Success Framework (UTEP EDGE). Networking activities, scholarships, and special events that are a part of the program promote interaction and cultivate academic excellence across campus.
ÀÇÓÑÊÓƵ’s University Writing Center (UWC) focuses on helping First Year to Ph.D students from all disciplines to better understand the rhetorical choices writers make in order to be effective communicators and writers. Moreover, the UWC works with faculty across campus to create and integrate effective multi-modal writing assignments into their classes and to use the UWC’s resources and tutors in enhancing students’ writing experiences. The UWC adapts pedagogies and methods to reflect professors’ course content and to highlight our collaborative approach to writing.
