Book Collections
The Carl Hertzog Collection includes Mr. Hertzog's personal books and books on printing, printing history, and examples of fine printing.
The Chicano Collection includes material on Mexican-American history and culture, developing from the former Chicano Services Section.
The Judaica Collection is based on the collection of Rabbi Vincent Ravel and donations from other members of the Jewish community.
The S. L. A. Marshall Military History Collection is built on the core of books from the noted military historian, S. L. A. Marshall.
The Southwest and Border Studies Collection grew out of the nucleus of books amassed by John H. McNeeley.
The Western Fiction Collection is built on a core of books collected by writer and English professor C. L. Sonnichsen.
The Faculty Collection includes books and articles published by UTEP faculty and staff.
The Art Collection includes many of the Library's expensively illustrated art books.
The Rare Books Collection includes old, fragile, or hard-to-find books which are kept in closed stacks areas or locked cases.
There are also several smaller book collections donated to the University Library, including the Charles Motsch Dance Collection, the Sir Richard Francis Burton Collection, the Rempe Limited Edition Club Books, and the McCord Poetry Collection. Historical books on medicine, nursing, and nursing education are also housed in the C. L. Sonnichsen Special Collections Department.
