A Legacy of Nursing Excellence
The UTEP College of Nursing started as the Hotel Dieu Training School for Nurses in 1898, the first nursing school in El Paso, and joined UTEP in 1976. Today, enrollment at the College of Nursing is the highest it has ever been. Guided by our principles of striving for excellence in everything we do, innovation to compete in the global health care environment and diversity as our greatest resource, the UTEP College of Nursing is able to offer students a high-quality education in a rich, multi-cultural setting.
As the College of Nursing continues to grow alongside the Paso del Norte Region, our talented faculty and staff continue to produce the experienced and culturally-competent professionals needed to serve our community’s growing population and the nation’s ever-changing demographic.
