Give to the College of Liberal Arts
I’m Christina Snodgrass, a junior studying Organizational and Corporate Communication at UTEP’s College of Liberal Arts. As one of five children, UTEP scholarship support has eased the financial burden on my family and has helped me concentrate on my studies. Additionally, scholarships have allowed me to participate in community service activities that the University offers as part of its programs to enhance student learning. Volunteering in our community has provided me with a balanced and realistic view of life.
I am thankful and immensely blessed to have a scholarship that allows me to attend a great university that is close to home. UTEP offers a wide variety of degrees, small classes and professors who truly care about their students. Putting these elements together makes this University the ideal learning atmosphere.
In the College of Liberal Arts, I’ve been able to develop my skills in public speaking, marketing and persuasion. Most importantly, however, UTEP professors have instilled in me a passion for communication and for living. They have made me realize that I can change the world!
Many people do not understand that donating to student scholarships is not only about money, it’s about the future. It is not just about the four years I will spend in school – it’s about the rest of my life. I would like to work for a non-profit organization or perhaps work in public relations for a major country music television station. But whatever I do, I know that the skills I’ve learned at UTEP will help me become an outstanding advocate for a cause or a professional in a company.
I will make a difference in our community and our world because someone like you made an investment in my education. It is truly humbling to receive a scholarship. I want you to know that scholarship support motivates students to work harder and pursue their dreams. You have the opportunity to help other students like me succeed. Here’s your chance! Please invest in scholarships for students in the College of Liberal Arts.
Sincerely,
Christina Snodgrass, ’11
