Student Employment
These are hourly positions available within UTEP departments. Students typically work 15-19 hours a week and are paid $10 per hour or more. These types of positions are in NO way connected to financial aid or financial need.

A need-based student employment program. Students typically work 15-19 hours a week and typically earn $10 per hour.

Internships
Positions that may or may not be major related, but that will enhance or develop your work-skills. Internships can be part-time or full-time. Some internships may be volunteer based. Internships typically require the student to work a minimum of 120 hours per semester. Another form of internships is called cooperative education, “co-op” for short. Co-Op’s have the same characteristics as internships, but may require additional work hours: +120 hours per semester.

Jobs Off Campus
These positions can be full-time or part-time and are typically found in the El Paso community, but some may be away from the area. When looking for off-campus jobs be sure to look for positions that work with your school schedule, offer professional development, and that aligns with your future career goals.

Research jobs are opportunities for students to work with faculty members and community organizations on numerous projects. Each position is unique to the project's focus and college.

Jobs Abroad
Study abroad, study away or join faculty-led academic and cultural experiences. These are credit-based and include a culminating experience in which students obtain increased understanding of his/her academic discipline, language proficiency, field research techniques, service learning or career-related knowledge.
