Stephen Haddad, M.M.
Stephen A. Haddad has been a member of the music faculty at UTEP since the fall of 2004. He was born in El Paso Texas and attended grade school and high school in El Paso. He graduated with honors from West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M) with a Bachelor of Music degree in Euphonium performance.
He has been involved in the musical community of El Paso and Las Cruces since his return in 1973, playing with the Pro-Musica and Nehring Consort Chamber Orchestras on Bass-Trombone and Tuba, and with the El Paso Symphony as Principal Tubist from 1983 to 1988. He is currently serving as Principal Tubist for the Las Cruces Symphony and El Paso Opera. Mr. Haddad is a founding member of Quintessential Brass, and has served as Tubist in that ensemble for over twenty-two years.
As an educator, he has served as visiting instructor in Tuba at New Mexico State University, and is currently a part time lecturer in Tuba at UTEP. In addition to his musical responsibilities, Mr. Haddad co-owns Music Systems, a retail store specializing in the design and installation of audio and security systems for the automobile.
