What did E-lead teach you to become the leader you are today?
E-Lead taught me to ask as many questions as possible and to not be afraid to try things. The amount of terminology and technical aspects used in my every day job is so heavy, it’s barely anything that was taught in school. However, school did give me the tools and resources that enables me to grasp these concepts and be able to use and apply them in my everyday tasks. Working in manufacturing involves having to manage many things at once but also being able to find root causes and try and find solutions. E-lead has taught me that not everything has to be so complicated nor so simple, just look into the problem, talk to as many people as you can, and assess the situation as well as what possible options are. This problem-solving mind-set along with teamwork skills has been helpful in the job.

Job Title: Program Manager for Financial Operations Tools
Company: Microsoft
Location: Seattle, Washington
What has been your experience as an E-lead student at Microsoft?
Since day one at work, I felt that I was in the E-lead studios because everything my team was working on I had already learned about. From doing bi-weekly sprint presentations, managing time, to working with a diverse team have been some of the strongest skills I developed as an E-lead student, and currently practice as a professional.
What did E-lead teach you to become the leader you are today?
Team projects and self evaluations had a huge impact on my journey as a leader because I became more self aware, adaptable, and empathetic. Additionally, the constant challenge from professors to explore problems, find solutions, and explain that process caused my leadership style to evolve into a growth mindset —> constant improvement and curiosity.
